There was an icy chill between them, as if all of the anger she'd felt and put aside for saving him had come back in one fell swoop.
And it had. He had put himself in danger, she had almost lost him. If it weren't for Bella (and she will not apologize for dragging the fragile human with her) then she'd be alone in this freakish world of hers in a way that only Edward would have been able to fill.
